Woopwoop!

So every year at around August, my whole company goes to Lake Tahoe for vacation. And everyone's invited. From our sales reps based in the east coast, to the newbie at work (that's me), to the spouses, kids, siblings, significant others and even friends and pets. And everything is paid for; the place, the food, the alcohol, the activities, boat rental, etc etc etc. And as i've only been with the company for 3 months, it was my first time to attend the annual Tahoe trip. In fact, it was my first time to go there ever. And man, Lake Tahoe is nothing like I thought it would be.

First off, I thought it would be suuuper cold. But since it's summer, and we were in South Lake Tahoe, we had perfect 80 degree weather. Not sooo hot that we would be sweating under the sun, but not waaay cold that you can't swim in the lake, or wear a tank top and miniskirt. Secondly, I thought it would be some tiny lake with murky water, like those lakes you see in movies with the kids swimming in dark brownish water. But noooo--the water is soooo clear, soo clean, and the lake is sooo huge. Third, I thought we were gonna rough it by staying in some cabin with the rest of the employees. But no, the place, Lakeland Village is sooo nice, and the cabin where we stayed was HUGE, and it was just me, destinee and tom. Well, it was partly because that's where we had karaoke night, but still. Speaking of karaoke, they actually rented the karaoke equipment from this events company, and the equipment was worth 13k!!! sure beats singing with the magic mic. BUT it didn't give you a score, so it wasn't as fun. And it had no videos. Haha wala lang. Anyway. It was big enough for the three of us, and tom's cat, kat. And we had such a great weekend, I finally tried wakeboarding (unfortunately I was never able to get up. but my body hurts anyway), we had poker night where I outlasted many of my fellow employees by being part of the final four, and karaoke night where my rendition of britney spears' oops i did it again (lee you would be so proud) was sobrang bentang benta we were sooo noisy the cops came, shined a flashlight on me, and so, thinking my coworkers were just having fun, made me actually sing louder and wave at the person with the flashlight. (my coworkers will never let me forget that) But anyway. At least I won best performance in karaoke night along with my other coworker john, and we each got a $250 amex gift card. i guess all my videoke sessions finally paid off. :P all in all it was such a perfect weekend that it royally sucked when we had to go to work the next day. but anyway.
