happy anniv!!!

i may be late, but i just wanted to wish myself a very very happy anniversary. i've been living here for over a year now, and it's been fun, it's been sad, it's been scary and at times depressing, but overall it's been great. i've done more than i would've been able to back home, i've been to so many places, met so many different people, that i just can't say this enough--moving was the best decision i've ever made. so yay, here's to a year in the bay area, and 4 (or more) more happy years to come!

so far i'm really loving this year. just the other week, i went to Great America with Tom, and we rode ALL the heart stopping rides. The first one we rode was Top Gun i think, and my eyes were closed the whole time. Hahaha such a chicken. But after the third ride, i'd started to open my eyes little by little, that by the time we rode the last rollercoaster, i kepy my eyes open the WHOLE time. *clap*clap* i even won this HUGE toy. if you know amy rose from sonic, imagine her the size of an 8 year old. she now resides in my closet, taking up a relatively big amount of space. and then there was the zoo! i don't know why but I've never been to a zoo, so it was quite an experience seeing all those pink flamingos, armadillos, peacocks, kangaroos, bears, ostriches, zebras, monkeys, birds, hippos, etc etc etc. i even got to pet the goats! you know all those goats in children's books? with the huge horns, and the goatees, and the gleaming white fur? well i saw them! and i saw sheep! and they felt so soft, exactly like a sweater! (i'm sorry. at least they don't kill sheep when they take their fur... right?) and then there was cooking class with my team at work. every month, we have a team outing where we go out and do random stuff. i heard they were deciding between karaoke and cooking class for this month, and the cooking class won (darn. maybe next time) so we went to this place in berkeley, and cooked an extremely yummy meal made up of veggie spring rolls (which i made, along with 2 other people!) chicken kebabs with pesto sauce, pizzas, and dark chocolate lava cake with a berry coolie. mmmmm. i took pics, but haven't uploaded it yet. this month we're having a barbecue and watching a baseball game, and i get to bring tom, so that should be fun. but i can't wait for august when we go to lake tahoe! i've never been there, only read about it in (i'm sorry for this pathetic moment) sweet valley, so i'm definitely looking forward to it. yay!

i've also been watching lots of movies these past few weeks. you know it's summer when all the good ones come out, like MI3, X-Men3, Da Vinci Code, etc. I think among those three movies, i liked x3 the most, only because Da Vinci code was slightly dragging, and MI3 was... well yeah it was a great movie. BUT, i also really really liked Jennifer Aniston's latest movie, The Breakup. If you've ever been through a breakup, or you want to know what a real breakup is like, watch! I liked the script, it felt real. And although I haven't seen a lot of movies with Jennifer Aniston, I liked this the best because it was the first time I didn't see her as Rachel Green, but as her character, Brooke. it was such a good movie, with a lot of tear jerker parts. i especially liked the first part when they get into the major fight that breaks them up, when jennifer says something like, "I want you to want to do things without me having to tell you what to do." or something to that effect. basta. i liked the script, and i liked the way they portrayed the characters. a must see movie for females (and males you can drag along). you'll be saying in your head, that is SO true.

anyway, yun lang. belated happy birthday nga pala to glenn and nikki d! and advanced happy birthday to earl v! mwah.
