why?

cathy wrote something in her blog that got me thinking. why is it than in manila, when you're born into poverty there's little chance for you to get out of it, while in the states, there are (almost) equal opportunities for everyone if you just work hard enough? yeah okay so america is a first world country, but what does it have that seems to be missing in the philippines? i'm sorry, i'm not really into politics and i'm not aware of world issues or stuff like that, so bear in mind that these questions are coming from someone who is not aware of current events and what-have-yous. bottom line is, it's just sad that there are some people in manila who work their asses off each and every day, and they get so little in return.

you know what i wanna do? although i don't know if i can do it. i wanna earn lots of money here, go back to manila, put up my own events company so that i can not only be my own boss but i'll also be able to provide much needed jobs for the unemployed. how ambitious. but you never know.

i attended another job fair yesterday with sina jepoy, but none of the jobs really interested me. it was too bad really because i wore my killer shoes (lee you know the one) and i was all dressed up and everything, but oh well. although there was this marketing specialist job for this childcare center, and i'd love to work for them because i love kids, but they haven't called me yet. time will tell. so far i'm leaning towards being a financial adviser even if it means studying for about 3 months to get my license, because it will really help me in the future. managing your finances is important, and i think more and more people are looking for advisers so it looks promising. and at least i can work while i study, so i'll still be earning a little. i had another job interview this morning for a marketing job; since the main office is in the east coast, the HR person interviewed me through the phone. they seemed to like me, and i like what i heard so far. it's not a sales position so yahoo! and the office is in the city as well, so yahoo again! the VP will interview me (via phone) this friday, so maybe they'll offer me a job. at least i hope. the thing is, if they do offer me a job they want me to start asap so we'll just see. job hunting is so hard. how will you know when you should just take the job or hold out for something better?

anyway so after the fair we ate in in n out and then hung out in jepoy's house for a while. then we had dinner in castro! hahahahahahahaha. kinda culture shock, i'm not used to seeing so many gay people but it sure was an interesting experience. we went inside this toy shop (yes, the kind of toys adults play with) and well, interesting... hahahahahahahahaha! i wanna have a gay bestfriend! gay people are fun to be with. haha! ;p
